Instructions for a Vonage V-Portal Digital Phone Adapter With a One Port Router
Install a Vonage V-Portal adapter to use your broadband Internet service to place voice calls. Even if you have only one port on your router, you can install the adapter and still have a wired-connection port reserved for your computer or other devices. Vonage is a VoIP or Voice over Internet Protocol calling service that uses broadband networks to carry voice signals instead of traditional phone lines.

Turn off your router.

Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into the "Internet" port on the router and insert the other end into the "Internet" port on the Vonage adapter. The ports are standard Ethernet ports similar to the ones found on your computer.

Insert one end of the phone line into the phone port on the adapter and plug the other end into your headset.

Insert another Ethernet cable into the "Ethernet" port on the adapter and plug the other end into your router or other wired equipment.

Plug the power cable into the Vonage adapter and turn on your router. The telephone's LED will glow blue when your the adapter is ready to make calls.
