It is easy to make a vertical photo horizontal while you are working with it in Adobe Photoshop by either transforming the photo or rotating the canvas. Transforming the image will allow you to rotate, resize, and crop the image, while rotating the canvas rotates the entire image as-is.
Things You'll Need
- Adobe Photoshop
- Digital Photos
Go to the "Edit" menu.
Click on "Rotate." Squares will appear on the corners and sides of the image.
Click on one of the squares and hold down the left mouse button. As you move the mouse, you will be able to rotate the image until it is in a horizontal position.
Resize the image as needed to fill the canvas.
Go to the "Image" menu.
Click on "Rotate canvas"
Choose to rotate either 90 degrees clockwise or 90 degrees counterclockwise, depending on the original orientation of your image.
Tips & Warnings
- If you are unable to transform the image, the layer might be locked. Double-click on the layer and then click "ok" in the window that opens. The layer will unlock.
