How to Boldface Words on People's Walls on Facebook

Boldface formatting adds emphasis to specific words and phrases.

People across the globe enjoy sharing messages, pictures and websites on their friends' walls on Facebook. Writing in boldface allows users to emphasize certain words or phrases in textual form. Bold facing words simply requires adding specific punctuation to your messages.

Instructions

1. Locate the friend's Facebook page on which you wish to create a post. Enter the body of your message in the text box at the top of your friend's Facebook profile.

2. Add an asterisk (*) at the beginning and end of words, phrases, or sentences you wish to appear in boldface. Make sure to remove any spaces between the asterisk symbols and the beginning and ending letters of words or the closing punctuation of your sentences.

3. Reread your message to eliminate any errors and press the blue "Share" button located at the bottom right portion of the text box on your friend's profile page. The asterisk symbols should disappear and words or phrases you originally formatted should appear in bold face.
