Use mustache wax when grooming your handlebar mustache.

With curved tips that point upwards, the handlebar mustache is named for its resemblance to the handlebars of a bicycle. First worn by European soldiers in the late 1800s, the mustache was also worn by famous Wild West characters such as Wyatt Earp and later by well known avant garde artist Salvador Dali. While the mustache style does require daily attention, grooming can be performed at home in just a few minutes, using products that can be found at your local drugstore. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Wash your mustache daily to remove food particles and odors. Use a gentle shampoo and rinse well with warm water to avoid irritation.

    • 2

Dry the mustache thoroughly and use a mustache comb to part your mustache in the middle, with an equal amount of hair on the right and left sides of the part.

    • 3

Apply a small amount of mustache wax to the comb and comb the wax evenly through the mustache hair. Then twist the tips of your mustache to create sharp points on each side.

    • 4

Wrap the tips of the mustache around your finger, shaping each end into a curl that points upward. If necessary, apply a second layer of mustache wax to the tips to ensure the curls stay in place.
