PowerPoint 98/2000 lets you create Action buttons, which will allow you to jump to a specific slide during your presentation. An Action button helps present information that might not fall within the normal sequence of your slide show.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use Action buttons only in an actual slide show.

  • If you use an Action button to go to a slide, you'll want to use a Return button to get back to the original location. (See "How to Create Return Buttons in PowerPoint," in Related eHows for instructions.)

  • You can also jump to another slide in a slide show by using keyboard shortcuts and by navigating by title.

  • You can also create Action buttons by going to the Slide Show menu and selecting Action Buttons.

  • Use the arrow keys to more accurately position the button on the slide.
