How to Restart Gmail on a G1 Android

The Gmail app syncs your Gmail account to your Android device.

The T-Mobile G1 smartphone runs Google's Android operating system. This operating system includes the Gmail app that allows you to read and reply to emails using your G1 phone. If the Gmail app freezes or otherwise misbehaves, restart the app to regain access to your Gmail inbox on your phone. This process involves forcing the app to stop, then manually relaunching it on your G1.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu" button and tap "Settings."

2. Tap "Applications" and "Manage Applications."

3. Scroll down to "Gmail" in the list of applications and tap it.

4. Tap the "Force Stop" button. Tap "OK" in the confirmation box that opens.

5. Press the "Home" button to return to the G1's home screen, then tap the "Gmail" app icon to restart Gmail.
