How to Make Your Toothbrush Into a Wristband
Throwing out a toothbrush after several months of use is a routine act for many: just chuck in the garbage bin, get another and that's it. Never fear though, as it's possible to combine recycling with creativity to turn a toothbrush into a wristband, making a little treasure out of what would otherwise be trash. Turn any toothbrush into a wristband, but choose a colorful one for a funky, novel piece of jewelry. Does this Spark an idea?

Boil water in a small to medium sized pot on the stovetop. Just several inches of water will suffice to cover the toothbrush, so don't fill the pot to the top. Turn up the heat until the water reaches a rolling boil and drop the toothbrush in, being careful not to splash. Allow the toothbrush to boil for 5 to 10 minutes.

Grab it with a pair of metal tongs or pour the contents of the pan into a colander or sieve to remove the toothbrush from the pot of boiling water.

Grasp the toothbrush firmly, using a towel as insulation, and pluck out all of its bristles with a pair of pliers. Act quickly, because if the toothbrush cools, the plastic will harden and removing the bristles will become difficult.

Cover the toothbrush in a dish towel to avoid touching the hot plastic and bend its ends toward one another, creating a wristband shape. If bending the toothbrush is difficult, put it in boiling water for several more minutes to make it pliable.

Place the toothbrush bracelet in a dish of cold water and allow it to soak. The icy water will harden the plastic again, helping it retain its new, circular shape.

Tips & Warnings
For something really unique, purchase a vintage (but unused) toothbrush on a site like eBay and make a toothbrush bracelet featuring favorite cartoon or movie characters.
