How to Make a Decorative Cone for a Cascaron
A cascaron is a confetti-filled egg often used at Easter and other holidays for celebration. The tradition in Spain and Mexico is to break the eggs over the heads of friends and family as a colorful celebration. The eggs are used during Easter, Halloween, the Day of the Dead, Cinco De Mayo and other holidays. One way to store the eggs is to make a cone for each individual egg to hang from a doorknob or other area. Individuals can also carry the eggs in the cone to avoid accidentally crushing the eggs ahead of time in their hands.

1
Draw a large triangle onto a piece of paper. Make the bottom and side edges the same length, such as 8 inches.
-
2
Round the bottom edge of the triangle with a pencil, creating a rounded base without sharp corners. Cut out the triangle shape.

3
Decorate the cone with the desired colors and embellishments. Add glitter, beads, sequins or ribbons. Allow any glue to dry for two hours.
-
4
Tape the two sides of the triangle together. The top of the triangle becomes the bottom of the cone and the rounded bottom becomes the open top.
-
5
Punch a hole into either side of the top of the cone. Tie a piece of 12-inch ribbon to the holes to hang the cone in the desired location. Place one or more confetti eggs inside the cone.
