How to Stabilize Your RV
Anyone who has traveled with an RV knows what it is like to experience bouncing and movement inside the unit while on the road. An unleveled campsites or a hasty setup is the most common cause of an unstable RV. Eliminate the shaking and bouncing in your camper with proper stabilization. Stabilizers are not meant to support the weight of the RV, but help keep your unit from moving around. Setting up your RV in the right order will make your outdoor excursion more comfortable and enjoyable.

Place wooden or plastic leveling blocks under the RV tires to level the camper from side to side. Drive the RV onto the blocks to center them under the wheels.

Place wheel chocks behind and in front of each RV wheel before disconnecting the camper from the tow vehicle to keep it from rolling off the leveling blocks.

Raise or lower the tongue jack located on the front of the camper to level the camper from front to back.

Begin in the rear of the RV and lower each of the corner stabilizer jacks until they touch the ground. Place leveling blocks underneath the jack if the RV is on an incline and the jacks do not touch the ground.

Set chocks between the wheels on to prevent any additional movement. Lock the chocks into place.

Walk around the RV to confirm that the jacks and wheel chocks are still set in place before entering the RV.

Place two extra screw jack stands underneath the RV frame behind the back axle if it requires additional stabilization to prevent bouncing.
