How to Optimize Your Twitter Bio Separators
A Twitter bio separator is a character that divides keywords, phrases or descriptive sentences on your profile's bio section. These can be anything from a simple comma or symbol. Using bio separators is a useful way to communicate key concepts on your profile. This gives a person viewing your profile a quick snapshot of who you are. Since the bio section on a Twitter profile is limited to 160 characters, you should take advantage of using keywords with a bio separators.

Go to twitter.com and sign into your Twitter account.

Click the "Profile" tab at the top to view your profile as it is right now. On the profile page, click the "Edit Your Profile" link.

Go to the "Bio" section and type keywords or phrases that best describe who you are or why you are using Twitter.

Use a separator between the keywords or phrases that does not distract the reader. Common and useful separators include a comma, a period and the "|" character (located above the Enter key on most keyboards).

Use the same separator between all phrases and keywords. Using a different separator can distract the reader and cause him to leave your profile quickly before getting a sense of who you are.

Click the "Save" button to update your Twitter profile. The changes you made take effect immediately.
