How to Make a Toga Costume for a Boy
Capture the look of ancient Rome or Greece by dressing a boy in an elegant toga. The clean, crisp look of a white toga has a distinguished appearance that will make boys feel like a Greek god or a Roman warrior. At the same time, this ancient inspired costume is also easy to whip up and cheap, making it an ideal choice for a last minute costume or an inexpensive Halloween look.

1
Dress the boy in an all white outfit. Whether its a fancy white tunic or a simple white t-shirt, or white slacks or white sweatpants, all white clothing provides a distraction-free base for the toga.
-
2
Obtain about 4½-yards of white fabric. Fold it in half so the fabric is half as wide, but still 4½-yards long.

3
Hold the fabric so that the crease of the folded fabric is on top. Use a safety pin to attach the top corner of the toga fabric to the waist of the pants on the boy's right side. This point will be covered by the toga, but helps hold everything together.

4
Wrap the toga around the boy's waist about 1½ times, starting at the front and wrapping around back. Continue past the point where you've pinned the toga so that the fabric covers the pin. Pull the fabric over the front again to the boy's left side, completing the 1½ rotation.
-
5
Lift the fabric up, behind the boy's left arm, up and over his shoulder so that the toga covers his left shoulder and his upper arm. Let the cloth drape over the boy's front. To secure the toga, you can pin it at the boy's back using safety pins.
