1
Take a shoelace in your hand, and insert one end into the top of the left, bottommost eyelet of your skate shoe -- nearest the toes -- and the other end into the top of the opposite eyelet. Pull the shoelace through both eyelets until the same amount of lace is on both sides, with the ends of the laces inside your shoes.
-
2
Push the left end of the shoelace up through the eyelet above the one it is already through -- second from the bottom. Pull it through the eyelet, across the tongue of the shoe and down through the eyelet on the other side -- also second from the bottom. This starts a "straight lacing" pattern that differs from the typical diagonal one.

Take the right shoelace end, insert it up through the third eyelet from the bottom on the right side, and pull it across the tongue and down through the third eyelet from the bottom of the left side.

4
Continue to lace your shoes by taking the opposite side of the shoelace and repeating the pattern started in Steps 2 and 3 until the laces reach the top of the shoe, where you will then tie them securely.
