How to Make an Invitation Look Like a Ballgame Ticket
When you want to score with your party guests, hit a home run with an invitation that is really out of the ballpark. Take advantage of the Windows Paint graphics program, located in your operating system’s Accessories folder, to design an invitation that looks like a ballgame ticket. You may not be serving peanuts and Cracker Jack, but guests will want to be the first around the bases to call to respond. With Paint, create a custom game invitation that will be just the ticket.
Instructions

1
Open Windows Paint. Click the Paint button and select “Properties.” Enter dimensions for the invitation. To mimic a ballgame ticket, make the dimensions long and thin, such as 3-by-6 inches. Click the “Inches” radio button. Click the “OK” button and Paint rearranges the canvas.
-
2
Click the “A” icon in the middle of the “Tools” section on the ribbon. Leave the default color as blank or change it to your favorite team’s color. Choose a font, such as Courier New. Press the “Caps Lock” button to get all uppercase letters.
-
-
3
Click the ticket’s center and type the main invitation greeting, such as “ADMIT ONE TO MAX’S BIRTHDAY.”
-
4
Press the “Enter” key to break the line, then add another line of information, such as “MAX’S HOUSE.” Press “Enter” and type the date of the event.
-
5
Drag the cursor to the left side of the invitation. Click. When the text box appears, reduce the font size. Type a fake price for the invitation or type any series of numbers.
-
6
Move the cursor lower and type “Seat Number” and the person’s seat if desired. You can also type “Guest” number and number the tickets individually for each guest.
-
7
Drag the cursor to the right side and repeat the lines of text you just added. This is optional; not all tickets have repeating information and is up to you whether you want to fill the invitation space this way.
-
8
Add text informing guests of how to R.S.V.P., what to bring, whether the ballgame is a theme and whether equipment will be provided, any registry information and who to contact for more details about the event.
-
9
Click a colored square in the “Colors” section of the ribbon. If you chose a color for the text other than black, make sure this new color doesn’t override the ticket text shade. For example, choose a light pastel with black text.
-
10
Click the tipping-over paint can icon. Click anywhere on the ticket to fill it with a background color. Giving the ticket a background color is optional.
-
11
Click the Paint button’s drop-down menu. Choose “Save As.” Enter a name for the ticket invitation file and click the “Save” button.
