How to Make Firefox Show Previews of Recently Closed Pages

During a lengthy browsing session with Mozilla Firefox, you may open and close many different pages. Although you can view a list of recently closed pages by opening the "History" menu and clicking "Recently Closed Tabs," it may be difficult to pick an individual page out from a long list. Install the FoxTab Firefox add-on to see thumbnail previews of recently closed pages, and quickly find the one you want to view again.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Firefox, and navigate to the download page for FoxTab (addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/foxtab/). Click the green "Add to Firefox" button, then click "Allow" at the top of the screen. A new window appears to remind you to install Firefox add-ons only from trusted sources.

    • 2

Click the "Install Now" button at the bottom of the window when the countdown ends.

    • 3

Click the "Restart Now" button to restart Firefox with FoxTab enabled, then browse the Web as normal to begin generating a history of closed tabs.

    • 4

Press the "F12" key to open FoxTab when you want to view your recently closed tabs.

    • 5

Click "Recently Closed" at the top of the screen. The screen displays 3-D previews of the pages that you have recently closed.
