      Apply a dime-sized amount of gentle cleanser to your fingers. Rub your fingers together and smooth onto your face in small circles. Wash the cleanser off with a damp washcloth. Do this twice per day, once in the morning and once at night.

      Put a quarter-sized amount of facial scrub in damp hands. Gently rub the exfoliator into your skin. Rub it in circles for 30 seconds. Wash it off using a wet washcloth. Exfoliate two times per week for best results.

      Apply a lotion containing salicylic acid to your face before bed. This ingredient cleans pores and prevents acne. Smooth a dime-sized amount to your face before bed. If your skin is sensitive, salicylic acid can cause irritation. Begin by applying it every other evening. If your skin tolerates it, use it every evening. Avoid the area under your eyes.

      Visit a dermatologist to get a prescription for Retin-A. It sloughs off the top layer of your skin and removes bacteria from your pores. Put one tiny dab of it all over your face with a focus on areas that are prone to clogged pores. Do not use more than one dab on your skin. Always apply it before bed. Start by using it one to three times per week. If your skin does not become excessively dry or red, use it every other day or daily.
