How to Braid Curly Human Hair Extensions

How to Braid Curly Human Hair Extensions thumbnail
Braiding a curly hair weave is just as simple as braiding a straight hair weave.

One of the easiest ways to change your look is to get hair extensions. Synthetic extensions are one option, but for the most natural looking hair, you need human hair extensions added to your natural locks. While human hair extensions are significantly more expensive than synthetic extensions, they are the only type of hair extensions that can be styled after they are applied to your hair, unlike synthetic extensions that are styled prior to application. One such style is the basic braid, which can be worn as both a casual and formal hair style. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Brush your curly human hair extensions thoroughly until your comb slides easily through the hair without becoming tangled. Spraying a leave-in conditioner or detangling spray onto the hair helps remove tangles and smooth frizz commonly found in curly hair.

    • 2

Separate your curly hair into three sections of equal sizes. Take one section in your left hand and two in your right. Take one section in the palm of your right hand and the other between your thumb and forefinger.

    • 3

Hook the middle finger of your right hand around the section of hair in your left hand as you cross the section in your left hand over the section in the middle. Transfer the section in the middle to your left hand. Spray hair with water or frizz serum periodically to keep it smooth and easy to work with.

    • 4

Grab the section of hair that is now located in the center with your left thumb and forefinger and hook the section of hair at the far right underneath the middle finger on your left hand, crossing it over the middle section.

    • 5

Repeat this process until your hair is completely braided and tie a hair tie around the bottom of your hair to keep your braid in place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Curly hair extensions made of real human hair should be treated just like your own natural human hair when you are styling them, which means dampening your curly human hair extensions with water before braiding.
