Tip her head forward slightly and start at the front center of the hair. Use hair-cutting scissors and cut the hair at the perimeter and angle to just in front of the ears. Cut the hair so that it angles towards the tips of the ears. Do this on the other side of the head.

Use a wide-tooth comb to separate the hair at the back of the head. Start on the left side and cut the hair into a curve just at the neckline. Cut around the ears and meet at the front of the hair in front of the ears. Repeat this on the other side of your head.

Brush the top of the hair forward. Use your fingers to pull up hair straight and hold with fingers to determine the length. Trim the ends so that the hair is as the desired length. For a pixie cut, three to four inches should be the maximum length.

Cut layers into her hair. Begin at the front of the hair and cut vertical lines on the back and sides. This adds volume and dimension to the pixie cut.
