How to Run Siebel DB Extract

If you use the Siebel Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program in your business or organization, you can make backups at any stage. Siebel CRM maintains client details, products, projects, tasks and much more within the Siebel database (DB). If you want to back up the database, you can extract it to another location. This is very useful for backing up, but also if you plan on moving to another CRM package instead of Siebel.

      Log in to Siebel CRM as an administrator.

      Click "Site Map," then "Administration," "Server Management" and "Jobs."

      Click "New."

      Click "Database Extract" from the Component list and then select the server you wish to extract in the Requested Server field.

      Click "New" in the job and select a name for your extracted database. Click "Start." Choose a location for your extracted file to be stored and press "Enter."
