How to Troubleshoot a Ryobi WS730
The Ryobi WS730 is a 7-inch tile saw also known as a wet saw because the machine uses water to keep the cutting blade cool and free of ceramic dust as it slices through tiles. As with any piece of machinery time and usage may eventually cause the saw to malfunction. The two most common problems experienced when using the Ryobi tile saw are the table rollers and slide rod no longer moving smoothly and a wobbling blade. Troubleshooting the cause for these problems is straightforward and will lead you to the solution. Does this Spark an idea?

Table Rollers and Slide Rod Problem
-
1
Unplug the machine and wiggle the table from side to side, inspecting for looseness.
-
2
Tighten the table if it's too loose on the rollers by loosening the two shafts directly beneath the table rollers using a hex key and an adjustable wrench. Loosen the shafts until the table no longer wobbles and slides on the rollers smoothly.
-
-
3
Loosen the table rollers if they continue to perform irregularly by inserting a hex key into the roller shaft closest to the saw frame, holding the hex key firmly to prevent the shaft from turning, and loosening the nylock nut on the opposite side of the roller with an adjustable wrench until the rollers begins to slide smoothly.
-
4
Clean the debris off and away from the sliding rod with a dry cleaning cloth if the table continues to slide in a jerky motion.
Wobbling Blade Problem
-
5
Unplug the saw and locate the two motor brush caps on either side of the motor. Open both brush caps by unfastening the caps with a flat head screwdriver.
-
6
Pull out the carbon motor brush assemblies from the brush tubes and inspect them for wear. Replace both brushes if either one has less than 1/4 inch of carbon remaining.
-
7
Place two new carbon motor brushes into the brush tubes and replace the two caps.
-
8
Plug the machine in, turn it on and inspect the blade for a wobble.
