How to Pass to an Open Man in "NBA 2K11"

Developed by Visual Concepts, "NBA 2K11" is a premier basketball video game in which you take part in the world of the NBA. Featuring Michael Jordan, one of the sport's greats, it allows you to take to the court with your favorite teams and players both present and past. While on offense in "2K11," you can pass the ball to open men to scramble defenses and make appropriate plays at the hoop. Making passes is quick and simple.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your "NBA 2K11" disc into your gaming console's disc tray and wait for the game to launch.

    • 2

Press the "Start" button on your controller when you see the notification, and either start a new game or resume a previously saved one.

    • 3

Control the joystick to make the ball handler face the open man you want to pass the ball to, and press the "X" button if you're using PS3. Press the "A" button to pass the ball if you're using Xbox 360. If your man isn't open, you risk a deflection from an opposing player.

    • 4

Press "X" or "A" repeatedly if you want to perform touch passes. When you perform touch passes, the open man receives the ball and immediately passes it to the next person without holding on to it for more than a second. Touch passes can confuse your opponent's defensive strategy.

    • 5

Press the "RB" or "R1" button if you want to make an icon pass. A button icon appears over each of your players. Press the button displayed over the player you want to pass the ball to. The ball automatically goes to that player. Icon passes allow you to make more accurate passes to open players.
