on 11/22/2005 Find out, once activiated, how long your burglar alarm will sound. I had one that will go on for ever. once, it went off and after 3 hours someone complained to the police. When, I came home, they were there and said that they will give me a ticket next time that happens. Normally, they are allowed to sound for 10 minutes or so. But check local laws on how long they allow a burglar alarm to sound. Ensure this before purchase.

on 11/22/2005 When youre considering a security system, you shouldnt be content with getting a panel that has the exact number of zones you would need to cover your house "now" - consider getting a panel that will have a few spare zones for the future. Usually, it is not a big difference in money and you will have room to add more devices onto your system later on.
