2. Have the team use a computer program that generates all the possible number combinations as specified by the rules of the lottery.

3. Buy the specific tickets that you can afford.

4. Be aware, however, that you still may have to split the jackpot, as someone else may choose the same sequence of numbers.

General Rules

1. Try to pick numbers that are less likely to be picked. That way, if you do win the jackpot, it's less likely that you'll have to share the prize.

2. Avoid the numbers 7 and 11. These are considered lucky numbers and they are the ones that everyone picks.

3. Avoid numbers 1 through 31. These numbers are the days of the month and they are also commonly picked.

4. Play only when the jackpot is incredibly high.

5. Find out what the chances of winning are. For example, if your chances of winning are one in six million and the jackpot is 30 million, it's probably worth it to buy a ticket even though probably you won't win.
