However, there are strategies that will allow you to reduce this cost with a little research and a phone call. You can make significant cuts in your entertainment budget with just a few simple techniques.

1. Research the market. Unless Cablevision is the only option in your area, you may be able to find deals from other companies, whether cable or satellite.

2. Review what you actually watch and see if there is a cheaper pricing tier that will meet your entire family's viewing needs. You can lower your Cablevision bill by dropping channels that you do not use anyway.

3. Call Cablevision customer service, with your research in front of you. Discuss your service options, including dropping channels. If you have found a better deal elsewhere, tell the customer service representative that you want a similar deal, or you will have to consider switching to the competition.
