Multimedia presentations are a great way to convey your message in an engaging way.

If you want to make a multimedia presentation, it's safe to assume you know what your topic is, what media you want to include, and you have perhaps a vague idea of what it should look like. This is, after all, how you know you need a multimedia presentation. The easiest program to use is Microsoft PowerPoint, which has excellent support for images, videos, music and animated text.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a new presentation in PowerPoint by opening the program and pressing "Ctrl+N". A blank slide will appear.

    • 2

Prepare schemes of colors and fonts to make your presentation memorable and unique. Fonts can be changed under the "Home" tab but selecting the text and choosing a font from the dropdown menu. Alternatively, many templates are available under the "Design" tab, each of which includes a font scheme, background, and colors.

    • 3

Add multimedia to the slide using the "Insert" tab. There are options for tables, pictures, clip art, photo albums, shapes, smart art, charts, text, videos, and sounds. Each option in the "Insert" tab will guide you through the process of locating the file you want to add and placing it on the slide.

    • 4

Add a new slide by pressing "New Slide" in the "Home" tab, and repeat Step 3 to place the desired multimedia on the new slide. Repeat this process until you have created all the slides of your presentation.

    • 5

If using PowerPoint, save your multimedia slideshow for future use by pressing the "Save" button under the Office menu or by pressing "Ctrl+S".

Tips & Warnings

  • You'll want to familiarize yourself with PowerPoint to get the most out of it. Try making a few practice presentations to get through the learning curve before creating your actual multimedia presentation.
