1
Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner and towel dry. Damp hair makes this process a little easier.
-
2
Warm up your flat iron to the right temperature for your hair. 250-300 degrees Fahrenheit is good for fine hair, 300-350 degrees F works for medium and 350-400 degrees F is best for thick hair.

3
Separate your hair into sections with hair clips. Clipping your hair into manageable sections makes straightening much less stressful.
-
4
Straighten your hair with the flat iron, starting at the roots and working your way down to the ends. Try to keep your hands moving at a steady pace to ensure an even appearance.
-
5
Work your way around your head until you have straightened every section of your hair. Once your hair is straight, you can start in on the swept bangs look.
-
6
Separate your bangs from your hair and hold them directly over your head.
-
7
Apply a small amount of mousse to the roots and smooth it into the hair from root to tip.
-
8
Brush your bangs out to clear any excess mousse.
-
9
Wrap your bangs around the back of your brush, pulling them in the direction you want them to sweep.
-
10
Apply heat to your bangs with a blow drier. Slowly pull the brush away from your face, unrolling your hair from the brush. When your get near the end of your hair, roll the brush back into your bangs and wrap them around the brush again. Repeat this action for a few minutes to encourage your bangs to sweep to the side.
-
11
Brush your bangs in the direction you want them to go and look at your hair. If you have reached the desired result, apply some hairspray to encourage your bangs to stay in place. If not, continue wrapping and heating until you get where you want to be.
