1
Keep your cheeks clean-shaven or well-trimmed. To maintain a horseshoe mustache, keep your cheeks completely free of facial hair. If you insist on having a little bit of stubble in the areas surrounding your mustache, use an electric trimmer to keep any non-mustache-related facial hair very short.
-
2
Trim the upper portion of your mustache. With an electric trimmer or a pair of facial hair trimming scissors, carefully trim the upper portion of your mustache until only a half-inch of hair remains.

3
Trim the sides of your mustache. In much the same fashion as you trimmed the top part of your mustache, trim the sides until a half-inch of hair remains on each side. Certain horseshoe mustache enthusiasts -- Hulk Hogan chief among them -- prefer to keep the sides of their mustaches longer than the top portions.

Tips & Warnings
Horseshoe mustaches are commonly confused with handlebar mustaches. So, if you want to sport a horseshoe mustache, know what you're growing.
Since horseshoe mustaches tend to accentuate long faces, they look best on men with round or angular faces.
