How to Troubleshoot an iPad Power Shutdown
The iPad normally shuts down quickly, with a swipe and tap of the power bar on its screen. It safely closes all currently open applications while saving any unsaved data on the device. If you are unable to shut down the iPad, there may be an issue with your device's current software, which can result in erratic behavior when attempting to use it. If your iPad is updated to the latest version, a device reset may correct the shutdown issues by forcibly shutting down the tablet and restarting it to the home screen.
