Go to your battery and make sure that the terminal cables are connected to the battery terminals. If the terminal cables are loose on the battery, the go-kart will not be able to get electricity to the motor. Charge the battery for at least 12 hours before using the battery.

Check the battery connection charger. If the charger is not working properly, the battery will not be able to charge. Check for bent pins, frays in the wiring or defects in the charger. If your charger is not working properly, replace it immediately.

Look over the frame on the go-kart. The frame holds the battery, the motor and the seat in place. If you find that the frame is bent or broken, replace the part. You can replace the frame yourself with simple hand tools.

Check the air filter to make sure that it is not clogged or dirty. If the air filter is clogged or dirty, replace it with a new one.

Look at the tires around the go-kart to make sure they are holding the proper PSI. The go-kart's tires should hold about 15 PSI when they are full. Use a patch kit to patch the tire if it is losing air.
