How to Arrange an Ergonomic Desk
Your workspace plays a significant role in your work efficiency. A workspace that is ergonomic, or suited to accommodate your natural range of motion, has vital importance if you intend to work in one place for long periods of time such as a computer desk. An ergonomic workspace allows you adequate movement room and has items placed within easy reach. An ergonomic desk should have enough space on it to place a computer and other office supplies.

1
Place your computer monitor directly in front of your seating location. Move it far back enough to accommodate a keyboard and document holder.
-
2
Place the other components of your computer next to the monitor or under the desk if there is space. Connect them and ensure that all cables are out of sight.
-
-
3
Center the keyboard with the monitor and place your mouse to the side.
-
4
Turn your monitor off and adjust its tilt until you see no light reflections on the screen. This minimizes the glare from lighting and reduces eyestrain.
-
5
Adjust your desk chair to the proper height. When you sit back in your chair with your back straight and your head directly forward, the top of the monitor should be even with your eyes. Humans have greater visual range when looking down than when looking up.
-
6
Position the other items on your desk so they are within arm's length without cluttering your workspace.
