How to Create a Trip Itinerary Using OTIs

OTIS (Online Transit Information System) is San Diego's web-based transportation planner. Created by the Metropolitan Transportation System, it allows users to create a personal trip itinerary to help get around the city. It is simple to use, requiring a few inputs to tell you the best way to get from point A to point B. That can mean the fastest way, the way that involves transferring less, or the way that involves the least walking.

Instructions

    • 1

      Go to the OTIS website.

    • 2

Enter your starting and ending addresses. You can also choose prominent San Diego landmarks for either.

    • 3

Click the dropdown boxes to select your date and time of travel.

    • 4

Select your maximum desired walking distance from the dropdown box.

    • 5

Click the dropdown box under "Which do you prefer" to customize your route. The options are "Fastest Way," "Fewest Transfers," or "Minimal Walking."

    • 6

Click "Plan Your Trip." Your OTIS trip itinerary will appear on the next page.
