Travel back to the days of the ancient Romans with your bedsheet toga.

The toga is a symbol of the ancient Romans, but, today, togas are often worn in schools as part of history activities or to costume parties. Making a toga is a relatively cheap and quick endeavor that only requires a couple of bedsheets, safety pins and a few quick folds and wrapping techniques. Roman women eventually abandoned the toga for more stylish and feminine attire, and today's women may wish to add decorative shoulder brooches to their togas to make them appear more feminine and distinguish them from men's togas. Instructions

Hold one sheet vertically in front of you, and fold in the sides so that the sheet is the same width of your body. Repeat this step for the other sheet.

    • 2

Fold the top of each sheet downward so that the sheet is one foot shorter than you in height. Safety pin the folds in place for each sheet.

    • 3

Hold both sheets together, and turn them upside down so that the unfolded ends are on top. Pull each corner through one of the shower curtain rings enough so that you can then tie a knot to secure each ring into place. Each ring will serve as a decorative brooch to rest on your shoulders.
