How to Make Favorites With a Mac

On a Mac computer, you can add a favorite website to the Safari Web browser to be able to immediately go to the website without having to type in its Web address in the future. Favorites are called bookmarks on the Safari browser. You can add, delete and manage bookmarks using the Bookmarks utility in Safari. Organize your favorite websites by placing them in folders or on the Safari Bookmarks Bar. Click on the name of a bookmark to go to the website.

      Launch the Safari Web browser on your Mac.

      Navigate to the website that you want to make a favorite.

      Click the "+" sign to the left of the address bar after the website appears in the browser window. A drop-down box appears.

      Type the name that you want the website to have in the open text box and then select a folder or the Bookmarks Bar from the drop-down list as the location to save the bookmark.

      Click the "Add" button to save the website as a favorite on the Safari browser.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also add a website to the Safari Bookmark bar by clicking on the website's icon on the left side of the address bar and dragging it into the Bookmarks Bar.
