How to Chat on Yahoo Local

Yahoo! Messenger is a free instant messaging program that also allows you to connect to Yahoo Chat!, a Java-based chat application that includes a variety of chat channels based on topics and region. Regional chat includes listings for the most popular areas and there may or may not have a chat room for your local area. Yahoo! Chat displays how many people are in the chat room and their Yahoo! profile.

Instructions

1. Sign into Yahoo! Messenger using your Yahoo! account.

2. Click "Messenger." Click "Yahoo! Chat." Click "Join a Room."

3. Click the + symbol next to "Regional." Select your country. Click the + symbol next to the city closest to your area. Double-click the room you want to join. Click the "Enter Chat" button when the chat channel bar has finished loading.
