How to Get on Deadmau5 in "Minecraft"

Canadian electronic music producer and DJ Deadmau5 is such a fan of the sandbox computer game "Minecraft," he created his own online world for the game. Before you can join Deadmau5's Mau5ville world, you'll need to add yourself to the server white list on the Mau5ville Facebook page. Once you're whitelisted for the server, you can join the Mau5ville "Minecraft" world, which consists of a grid-pattern street layout centered on a statue of Deadmau5's concert headgear.

Instructions

1. Open a new window in your Web browser. Navigate to the Mau5ville Facebook page.

2. Click the "Discussions" link. Click on the "White List" post at the top of the list of discussions.

3. Click the "Last" link. Scroll down to the bottom of the discussion thread. Type your "Minecraft" username into the "Reply" box. Do not type anything else into the box. Click "Post Reply."

4. Launch "Minecraft." Type in your username and password and click "Login."

5. Click the "Multiplayer" button on the main "Minecraft" screen. Type "mau5ville.com:25565" -- without quotes -- into the text box underneath the "Enter the IP of a server to connect to it" heading. Click "Connect" to join Deadmau5's "Minecraft" world.

Tips & Warnings

• If "Minecraft" tells you that you're not whitelisted for Mau5ville, the administrators may not have added you to the list yet. Wait a few hours, then try to connect again.

• Thousands of "Minecraft" players want to get onto Deadmau5's server; if you can't connect at first, keep trying.
