How to Float Text in Dreamweaver

The "float" property is part of an image CSS class that lets you wrap text around the image. You can float text on the left or the right side of the image. Dreamweaver has a graphical interface that lets you set up your image properties without the need to type HTML code into your Web pages. You use the image property dialog window to set the text float properties.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Windows "Start" button, select "All Programs," then click "Adobe" and click "Dreamweaver" to open the software. Open your Web project to load the pages.

    • 2

Double-click the page you want to edit in the list of Web forms, then click the image on the page to activate a list of properties and options.

    • 3

Right-click the image, and select "New CSS Rule." In the opened window, click "Class," and click "OK," then a configuration window opens for the image.

    • 4

Select "Left" or "Right" in the drop-down labeled "Float." If you choose "Left," then the text floats to the left of the image, and if you choose "Right," then the text displays to the right of the image.
