How to Connect a Wii Via BlueSoleil

BlueSoleil is a PC program that allows you to connect your Wii Remote to your computer. This is possible due to the fact that the Wii Remote communicates with the Nintendo game console Wii via Bluetooth technology. The BlueSoleil software allows you to utilize the Wii Remote's Bluetooth capabilities to connect to your PC. Once connected, you can utilize software, such as GlovePIE, to use the Wii Remote as a mouse for your computer. While this isn't necessarily practical for everyday use, it is an excellent solution when making a presentation where you won't necessarily be sitting at your computer.

    • 1

Install the Blue Soleil software on your computer using the manufacturer's instructions.

    • 2

Insert your USB Bluetooth dongle into your PC if it doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities built in. Wait for the drivers to finish installing before continuing.

    • 3

Click on the "Start Menu," Select "All Programs," "IVT BlueSoleil" then "BlueSoleil" to open the BlueSoleil software.

    • 4

Press the 1 and 2 Wii Remote buttons at the same time until all four lights on the Wii Remote blink.

    • 5

Click on the orange circle in the middle of BlueSoleil so that the computer will begin establishing the Bluetooth connection to your Wii Remote. This must be done while all four lights on the Wii Remote are still blinking.

    • 6

Double click on the Wii Remote icon on BlueSoleil once it has been found to confirm the connection.

    • 7

Right click on the Wii Remote icon in BlueSoleil and select "Connect" then "Bluetooth Human Interface Device Service." This will bring up the device driver installation for the Wii Remote. Follow the on-screen steps and click "Continue Anyway" when you receive a notification that the software has not passed Windows Logo Testing. Then continue following the on-screen prompt until the drivers have been installed. Note that this step will only be required the first time you connect a Wii Remote to a computer.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have issues pairing the Wii Remote with your computer, repeat Steps 4 and 5 again. Do not delay between the two steps, as the Wii remote will only stay in pairing mode for a limited time.
