How Does ACN Networking Work?

  1. ACN, Inc.

    • ACN is an MLM company, or multi-level marketing corporation, that claims to be the world's largest direct seller of telecommunications services, present in over 20 different countries. The company started as a project by four main founders, Greg Provenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Mike Cupisz and Tony Cupisz, who created the concept in 1993. The basic idea is that various marketing representatives work to sell low-cost telecommunication and Internet services, including DSL, broadband and dial-up based services. They offer positions to sell these services while promising commissions based on how often clients use the services and what tier representatives have reached in the multilevel system.

    ACN's System

    • ACN's business opportunities have raised a lot of suspicion. Parts of their pay-back program sound similar to a pyramid scheme, and their enthusiastic promises of high income do not lend credibility. However, ACN is not a true scam, and the system they use does function as they claim. The problem lies in the details of how the business functions, and what representatives must do to earn a substantial amount of income.

As a multi-level marketing company, ACN's system requires a great deal of work before representatives can reach the highest levels available and earn an appreciable commission. Most representatives will not be able to make it so far, and the low commission rates can add to the difficulty.

First, representatives must pay $499 to start their business, and then market the services to possible clients. Residual income payments become activated when a client incurs service payments of more than $10,000, while commissions are based on sales prices and bonuses are heavily oriented to recruiting other people as additional representatives.

    Marketing Process

    • ACN encourages the practice of warm marketing, or marketing to friends and family first and encouraging them to market to others that they know. This is considered a difficult practice, since friends and family are often less receptive to service marketing. A more successful representative would build up an outside customer base that can be easily expanded and marketing techniques that can reach a wide audience.

The key to successfully developing a stream of income from ACN's system is being able to devote enough time to effective marketing activities. It is not an investment system where representatives can put a small amount of time and money in and receive a steady income, nor is it a pyramid scheme where money will be taken without any sign of results, but it is a business opportunity that depends entirely on how much work the individual does to market ACN's telecommunication services.
