How Does Ecrinal Hair Care Make Hair Grow?

About Ecrinal Hair Care

Ecrinal is the brand name of a family of hair and nail care products manufactured by Laboratoires Asepta, a Monaco-based company. Among the Ecrinal hair care products are shampoo, hair cream, a hair mask and ampules filled with doses of the active ingredient. All of these products are marketed as solutions for regenerating, restoring and regrowing hair.

Ecrinal's Active Ingredient

The main ingredient in all Ecrinal products is ANP, a naturally-occurring substance under patent protection from Laboratoires Asepta. According to the manufacturer, ANP is an extract made from horse mane hair follicles and is a powerful substance for growing new hair and strengthening existing hair.

Benefits of ANP

According to the manufacturer, ANP stimulates the production of sulfur in dermal papilla. The body's natural metabolism produces sulfur in limited amounts to synthesize the amino acids methionine and cysteine, which are primary proteins in hair and nails. This sulfur production can diminish with age, skin damage and prolonged sun exposure. The manufacturer backs up its claims that Ecrinal can stimulate sulfur production and subsequent hair growth by citing several scientific studies. The studies and their results are explained on the Laboratoires Asepta website. While they cite specific physicians who helped oversee at least one of the studies, they do not fully explain the methodologies used or identify who funded the studies.
