Infinity Ps-10 Powered Subwoofer Problems
The Infinity PS-10 is a compact 250-watt powered subwoofer. It has a 10-inch woofer with a bass equalizer subsystem built into the electronic board to adjust bass frequencies. The PS-10 is primarily used in home theater and multimedia applications.

The PS-10 supports line level and speaker inputs. It has a direct input which can be used as an internal crossover to receive sound for satellite home theater systems. The PS-10 is also compatible for gaming systems by providing a surround sound experience.
Problem

The Infinity PS-10 has a problem with buzzing sounds due to a capacitor problem. The capacitor buzz is caused by a grounding loop or faulty transistor on the main board of the PS-10. Technicians have acknowledged problems with the capacitor and in some instances, have offered another model if the PS-10 is under warranty.

Even though a capacitor problem has been noted by the manufacturer, subwoofer problems can also occur through ribbon damage which produces a crackling sound or no sound at all. An individual should take the PS-10 to an authorized dealer for repair if these problems exist with the subwoofer.
