How do I Format Ringtones for a Samsung Phone?

Cell phone manufacturers consistently offer new methods and applications which allow the consumer to customize their products. Samsung is no different in this regard and ringtones for their phones are available in multiple places on the Web.

MMF

The first thing to do is to make sure that the multimedia format of the MP3 file or music you want to download can be added to your Samsung phone. While this probably differs per model, there is a general list of formats that Samsung supports.

The Store

Purchase the music from an online store. The store you choose may have to be approved by your cell phone service provider such as AT&T, Nextel, Sprint or Verizon. The Samsung site allows you to download music there. Search for your model under cell phones, select it, click on "I Own This," and you will be provided the option of downloading. (Reference 1)

Procedures

Again, the process may differ between models. For the Samsung Seek, you select a contact in your phone-book, press edit-entry, choose the ringtone you want and then save. The steps will be similar regardless. Just make sure that the MP3 you've downloaded is showing up in your downloads/ringtones/audio-files, otherwise it might not be there when you start editing the contact info. (Reference 2)
