The Corvette servo swap will improve transmission performance.

The 4L60E Corvette servo was designed to improve the shifting performance of a 4L60E transmission. The 4L60E transmission was utilized by GM in several applications, but came equipped in the Corvette with a special servo to improve shifting performance.

  1. Servo Modification

    • The Corvette servo provides firmer and faster shifts out of the 4L60E; the larger surface area allows for a 50-percent increase in holding power in second gear. An added benefit of the servo is that is usually improves the life of the second gear clutch-pack.

    Installation

    • Installation of the servo requires a flathead screwdriver and a c-clamp. The servo is installed in the side housing of the transmission. It is accessed without the need to drop either the transmission or the transmission pan.

    Fluid Loss

    • You might lose up to quart of transmission fluid during the swap, so it is advisable to keep extra transmission on hand.
