Where Is the Oil Filter on a Cadillac DTS?

Where Is the Oil Filter on a Cadillac DTS? thumbnail
An oil filter wrench tool removes a vehicle's oil filter.

The oil filter is kind of like your car's kidney. Processing the impurities in your oil, the filter collects and stores them until it is replaced. The Cadillac DTS uses an oil filter located under the engine block.

  1. Engine Block

    • Begin by opening your Cadillac DTS's hood. Locating your engine block is important because your filter is directly below it. Your engine block will be in the center under your hood.

    Splash Guard

    • Locate the splash guard on the driver's side. This is a plastic molding directly in front of your driver's side wheel in the front of your car.

    Under the Car

    • Starting from the splash guard, go under your car and head to where you saw the engine block on top of the car. The oil filter is located directly next to your splash guard, under your engine block. It will be a cylinder shape. You don't need to remove anything to see the oil filter on your Cadillac DTS.
