Sunbird Boats was a division of the Outboard Marine Corporation. The company manufactured the Sunbird Neptune from 1996 through 1998. Specifications remained fairly constant throughout the vessel's three-year history. OMC ceased manufacturing the Sunbird line of watercraft in 1998.

Size: Weight and Engine

  • In 1996, the Neptune 160's dry weight -- without passengers or fuel -- was 1,662 lbs. In 1997, the weight of the vessel increased to 1,727 pounds. In 1998, the boat's weight was reduced slightly to 1,706 pounds. The maximum recommended engine size was 115 horsepower in 1996. In 1997 and 1998, that number was reduced to 90 horsepower.
