Identification
-
The goji berry plant typically grows to a height of 3 to 12 feet, with a spread of 3 to 10 feet. It has rambling branches and somewhat thorny stems. The plant's bright green, oval leaves are 1 to 3 inches long. Tubular-shaped flowers are pale purple or white. Edible, bright red goji berries are approximately 7/8 inch long.
Production Considerations
-
It takes the goji berry plant from spring to late summer to produce fruit. Sweet red-orange berries ripen to bright red. For best results, goji plants should be planted in their own separate area. It is possible to grow these plants from seed.
