Specs on a J4000 Jeep Truck

The Jeep J4000, also referred to as the Jeep Gladiator, is a vehicle manufactured by Jeep between1970 and 1974. The J4000 features a cross blending of Jeep's off-road vehicles with that of a pick up truck. More than 35 years after production stopped on the original vehicle, Jeep will be premiering a new Jeep Gladiator for 2012.

  1. Original Specs:

    • The original models came in ½ ton and ¾ ton weight brackets. All models had a wheelbase of 132 inches. The vehicles have two doors, and came in two-wheel and four-wheel drive.

    Performance Specs: Engine

    • The three engine options available in the J4000 models included a standard V-8 engine design. The AMC 360 V8 comes in two- and 4-wheel drive. The third engine is an upgrade and is an AMC 401 V8 four-wheel drive type. The 360s have 175 horsepower and the 401 has 255 horsepower.

    Jeep J4000: 2012

    • The new Jeep J4000 Gladiator is expected to be released sometime in 2012. Jeep has not yet officially released performance specifications. It will feature an extended cab with four doors.
