How to Get an Import License in Malaysia
In order to import products or merchandise into Malaysia, you need a license. You must obtain a license and/or permit directly from the licensing or permit authority governing the product or merchandise you intend on importing.

General Goods and Vehicle Import License

A general or vehicle license to import is granted from the Ministry of International Trade. For application and fees, contact them at:

Commodity Import License

To import commodities, you must have a license from the Department of Agriculture. For an application, contact them at:

To apply online, use the Department of Agriculture link provided in the Resource section. The application fee is RM400.00 as of 2010.

Import Permits

In addition to an import license, specific products and/or merchandise require you to have an import permit. If you import medicine, you need a license and permit from the Ministry of Health's Pharmaceutical Division.
