What Is Vehicle Stability Assist With Traction Control?
Modern vehicle specification sheets are an alphabet soup of electronic driver aids and safety equipment. Not only are items like anti-lock braking systems (ABS) and supplemental restraint airbags (SRS) common, but many manufacturers also use trademarked names for the various systems in their vehicles.

Vehicle Stability Assist

Such is the case with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control. The name sounds pretty straightforward, but VSA is a stability control system that's specific to Honda products.
Honda's Stability Control System
-
Like most stability control systems, VSA uses the brakes to aid the driver if steering control is lost. By using the brakes on individual wheels, VSA can counteract a skid more quickly than many drivers are able to manage.

Traction Control Adds Security
-
In some Honda and Acura models, VSA is combined with a traction control system. With the addition of traction control, the anti-lock braking system and electronic throttle work together to keep the wheels from spinning when accelerating on a slick surface or splashing through a puddle.
