HP 6310 Cartridge Errors
All-in-one printers offer a variety of functions. They work as a copier, printer, scanner and even a fax machine. Occasionally these printers display a cartridge error, especially if you are using an off-market cartridge replacement.

Power Down Your Printer
-
Turning off your printer and disconnecting the power supply is one way to reset your printer. Keep the power disconnected for 60 seconds while holding down the power button. After one minute plug your power cable back into your printer and power on your machine. This should reset the error.
Semi-Full Reset
-
Remove the ink cartridges from your printer and remove the power cable from the printer while it is still on. Press and hold the # key and the 6 key on the keypad at the same time. While these are pressed plug your power cable back into your printer and turn your printer on. Release the two buttons after 10 seconds. Next turn your printer on and insert the ink cartridges.

Call Hewlett Packard technical support if you keep getting these errors. These errors are common in printers that are defective.
You can try to replace the cartridges with HP ink cartridges to see if the problem corrects itself.
If your printer is still under warranty Hewlett Packard may replace the faulty printer at no cost to you.
