How do I Use STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer? thumbnail
Use STA-BIL fuel stabilizer before storing your vehicle to prevent costly engine problems.

STA-BIL® fuel stabilizer, made by the Gold Eagle Company, prevents tank corrosion, helps keep fuel injectors and carburetors clean and keeps fuel fresh for 12 months. STA-BIL® makes starting two- and four-cycle engines easier. STA-BIL® eliminates the need to drain fuel before winter storage.

  1. Measure

    • One oz. of STA-BIL® fuel stabilizer treats 2 1/2 gallons of gasoline, gas/oil mixtures or ethanol blends. However, if you plan to store the engine for more than one year, use twice the recommended amount.

    Pour

    • Pour STA-BIL® carefully and wipe up any spilled product. For best results, add STA-BIL® to the gas can or tank before adding gasoline. STA-BIL® works only when added to fresh gasoline; stored fuel can go bad in as few as 30 days.

    Store

    • Fill tank to 95 percent capacity. Run the engine for five minutes before storing it to distribute the gas mixture through the entire fuel system. Store the engine per the manufacturer's recommendations.
