Toshiba Power Supply Problem
An integral part of a laptop computer system is the power supply, because it not only provides power to the laptop itself, but also charges the laptop's battery. There are a number of ways to troubleshoot a Toshiba laptop battery.
-
Loose Connection
-
Many laptop power supply problems are the result of the connector between the power supply and the computer not being situated correctly. Double-check that the power supply is plugged into the wall socket correctly and that DC-IN connector is seated in the laptop correctly.
Power Jack and Battery Troubleshooting
-
A common problem with Toshiba Satellite models is a bad connection between the DC-in power jack and the system mainboard, which can cause the laptop to restart itself randomly, no charge for battery or no power to the laptop itself. Fixing this issue involves taking the laptop apart and replacing the power jack, and should be attempted only by someone with experience in soldering system boards.

Power Management Utility Issues
-
a number of issues are known to be associated with Toshiba's Power Saver or Power Management software, which is included on each Toshiba laptop. The Power Saver or Power Management application is responsible for monitoring and managing the laptop's power and resources. Toshiba recommends that users having difficulties with the Power Saver or Power Management should uninstall the Toshiba Tbiodrv Driver, Toshiba Utilities, Toshiba Power Saver and Toshiba Common Modules software using the "Currently installed software" list, and then reinstall each application.
